EndNote online is designed to display and format Unicode characters in most languages. Some known limitations currently exist with importing, searching, and sorting for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters; see below for specifics.
There are many ways to share an EndNote Library or 'groups'. The below procedure describes different ways to share an EndNote library. Please also see, or the detailed description of.Each EndNote library consists of two items:.
An.enl file (e.g., MyLibrary.enl). An.Data folder (e.g., MyLibrary.Data)The.Data folder consists of the (PDF) attachments and the database files and subfolders.A compressed library consists of one.enlx file (e.g., MyLibrary.enlx, compare with.docx,.xlsx,.pptx). The.enlx file is in fact a zip-file. You can create a compressed library via EndNote menu 'File-Compressed Library'. It is optional whether you would like to include file attachments or not. The.enlx file is primarily for transfer purposes (email, usb stick).Never store an EndNote working library (the.enl file and.Data folder) directly on any cloud service for sharing, or even just for your own use. Better copy your library file and folder to your local disk and open your library from the local disk.
After you have finished your work, close the library and copy the files and folders back to the 'cloud' storage disk. Never create and save a compressed library directly to 'cloud' storage. Again, better save it to your local disk and copy the file to the 'cloud' storage. Else, this will eventually lead to library corruption because of the way the cloud services synchronize files over the Internet.Together with your EndNote Desktop license you are entitled to create an EndNote Online account.

January 14, 2015 – by Peggy DrekerQuestion: I recently tried to open an EndNote Library that I had previously been working on. When I tried to open the Library it gave me the Error Message “Bld 8311”. I am using EndNote Version X7.2.1. How can I get the Library to open?Answer: The Error Message “Bld 8311” indicates that there is a corrupt attached pdf file in your Library. Many times this is an error on the publishers’ side; not the EndNote user or the program itself. There are two suggested steps to restore the Library; Back up and Recover the Library. There is also that may help that is outlined at the bottom of this post. The two suggested steps come from EndNote:.
